Turkey's only Nobel laureate novelist Orhan Pamuk received Wednesday the international literary award "Tabernakul" in FYROM.
In his speech at the award ceremony, the best-selling novelist expressed his pleasure to receive one of the most prestigious literary prizes in FYROM.
Pamuk was presented with a bronze statuette made by Goran Stamenkov and with a money prize of 5,000 euros.
Nikola Gruevski, Culture Minister Elizabeta Kamcevska Milevska and Turkey's ambassador to FYROM Gurol Sokmensuer were also present at the award ceremony.
The international award was established last year by the publishing house Tabernakul.
Pamuk's novels "The House of Silence", "The Naive and Sentimental Novelist" and "Museum of Innocence" were published in the main language spoken in FYROM.
Novelist Orhan Pamuk was born on June 7, 1952 in Istanbul, Turkey. In 2006, he was awarded with the Nobel Prize in Literature by the Swedish Academy. His works have been translated into numerous languages.
