Russian President Vladimir Putin says accusations against Russia for allegedly contributing to the migration crisis in Europe are unsubstantiated.
"Any accusations against Russia for being allegedly responsible for the problem of refugees, are absolutely unjustified," Putin said.
"Our aim is exactly in creating conditions for people to return to their homes," he added.
He said the problem of refugees emerged before Russia began taking moves to stabilize the situation in Syria.
"Exodus of people from that huge territory of the Middle East, and even from Africa, from Afghanistan started long before our active actions in Syria," the president reminded
