Russia condemned the G-7 countries for the extension of sanctions

The state of the group of seven (G-7) in the final statement stressed that the lifting of sanctions against Russia depends on the implementation of the Minsk agreements and made clear that restrictions could be tightened.

The Kremlin press-Secretary Dmitry Peskov said that the sanctions harm the global economy and «global Affairs», reports TASS. Peskov added that Moscow does not consider the issue of sanctions «as part of its agenda».

• Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev instructed the government to prepare a proposal to extend until the end of 2017 counter-sanctions, including a ban on food imports from a number of countries. He said that Russian agricultural companies are interested in maintaining an embargo on the import of products from countries that have imposed sanctions against Russia.

The Russian government claims that these counter-sanctions have cost Western States at nine billion dollars.
