Moscow is concerned over Turkey’s continuing operation against Kurds, Russian Foreign Ministry’s official spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a briefing on Wednesday.
"The level of violence in Turkey’s south-eastern provinces that does not subside continues to be alarming," Zakharova said. "We once again call on Ankara to refuse the dead-end military method of resolving the Kurdish problem of many years," she added.
According to official information, 285 civilians have died since July 2015 in the framework of the "so-called anti-terrorist operation" carried out by the Turkish government, the diplomat noted. "Artillery is used in the operation against supporters of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party," she said adding that the situation in besieged Kurdish settlements is bad.
