A policeman was killed and two others including a civilian were wounded after "militants" attacked a police post in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said Saturday.
The attack took place at Reshnagri-Jamnagri in Shopian district, about 62 km south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.
"Last evening two policemen and a member of minority community were wounded after they resisted weapon snatching bid of militants at Jamnagri," a police official posted in Shopian said.
"Of the two wounded policemen, one succumbed on way to hospital."
"Militants" occasionally target police and paramilitary troopers in Indian-controlled Kashmir.
