Victims of floods in Texas were 16 people, including nine soldiers

At least 16 people were killed in Texas this week as a result of floods caused by tropical downpours, according to the June 4 Reuters.

Among the victims were nine soldiers from the army base in Fort hood. The car in which they were travelling attempted to cross the flooded Creek and overturned. Some of the passengers were rescued, but nine soldiers were drowned.

Major General John Uberti said that the three surviving soldiers have already been discharged from the hospital.

The floods were evacuated to a prison in Texas.

Water flooded several hundred private homes.
