Sergey Lavrov expressed his opinion about Russia’s recognition of the Donetsk and Lugansk national republics (DND and LNR)

The Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov expressed his opinion about Moscow recognized the breakaway Donetsk and Lugansk national republics (DND and LNR), calling the move «counterproductive.»

«The DPR and LPR to be counterproductive, it will give a reason for the West to stop pressure on Kiev to implement the «Minsk-2», – said Lavrov on Tuesday, may 31, in an interview with the newspaper «Komsomolskaya Pravda».

The Minister stressed that Russia «does not throw» the South-East of Ukraine.
