Βαρβιτσιώτης: Πάνω από 30.000 Σύροι μετανάστες θα προσπαθήσουν να μπουν στην Ελλάδα. Entry into force of the Readmission Agreement between Turkey and the EU

Η χώρα είναι προετοιμασμένη να αντιμετωπίσει τις επιπτώσεις από τις εξελίξεις στη Συρία και τα «κύματα» μεταναστών που θα προσπαθήσουν να εισέλθουν παράνομα στη χώρα μας, μέσω θαλάσσης...

Φόβους ότι ο αριθμός των Σύρων μεταναστών που εισέρχονται στην Ελλάδα θα αυξηθεί πολύ λόγω των γεγονότων στη Συρία, εξέφρασε ο υπουργός Ναυτιλίας, Μιλτιάδης Βαρβιτσιώτης.

Ενημερώνοντας την Επιτροπή Παραγωγής και Εμπορίου της Βουλής, σχετικά με την αναδιοργάνωση του υπουργείου Ναυτιλίας, ο κ. Βαρβιτσιώτης εκτίμησε ότι ο αριθμός των μεταναστών που θα προσπαθήσουν να περάσουν τα θαλάσσια σύνορα της χώρας θα ξεπεράσει τις 30.000.
Έσπευσε να τονίσει ωστόσο ότι η Ελλάδα είναι προετοιμασμένη να αντιμετωπίσει τις επιπτώσεις από τις δραματικές εξελίξεις στη Συρία. Το υπουργείο Ναυτιλίας, όπως είπε, σε στενή συνεργασία και με άλλα εμπλεκόμενα υπουργεία και αρμόδιες υπηρεσίες, παίρνει όλα τα απαραίτητα μέτρα και εντατικοποιεί τους ελέγχους, ώστε να αντιμετωπίσει τη μεγάλη πίεση που αναμένεται να δεχθεί από τα «κύματα» μεταναστών που θα προσπαθήσουν να εισέλθουν παράνομα στη χώρα μας, μέσω θαλάσσης.
