An attempt of Amnesty International human rights organization to make
Russia look a side in the Ukrainian conflict is ‘a profound mistake,’ a
spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
“I have not studied the question in detail and have not seen the phrase,” Alexander Lukashevich said. “If it’s true, it is a profound mistake.”
“We have repeatedly reiterated it and it is written on paper, including the Minsk protocol of September 5, in which sides in the conflict are determined rather clearly and they should hold negotiations,” the diplomat said.
“Russia and the OSCE (the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) remain facilitating parties, which using their opportunities and influence on the other sides will do everything possible for promoting the talks in the directions coordinated in Minsk.
