Ukraine should stop holding journalists captive, hurting them (Russian FM)

The Russian Foreign Ministry has welcomed the release of the Zvezda television journalists.

"The correspondents from the Zvezda television channel, Yevgeny Davydov and Nikita Konashenkov, were released in Dnipropetrovsk on June 16 and are returning to Moscow. This is joyful news!" the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued in Moscow on Monday.

"The release is the result of the persistent efforts of all our structures, with the active participation and support by Russian mass media outlets," the statement said. "We insist that Ukraine must stop the unlawful practice of arresting journalists and ensure their right to free and objective coverage of the events in any country," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Meanwhile the journalists' health condition leaves much to be desired.
