Ukraine files two lawsuits against Russia at European Court of Human Rights

Ukraine filed two lawsuits against Russia at the European Court of Human Rights. The lawsuits are about the accession of the Crimea and liability of the Russian Federation to Ukraine, Rada-appointed Prime Minister Yatsenyuk said.

"We are also preparing lawsuits, including to the bodies of state authority and administration of the Russian Federation, for robbery and unlawful seizure of Ukraine. One will have to be held accountable for this," Yatsenyuk said.

According to Yatsenyuk, the Ukrainian side will use all possible legal means to bring Russia to court. "We realize that such trials do not take just a month, but such lawsuits will have results," said the Ukrainian Rada-appointed Prime Minister.

He also said that the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine launched investigation into the Ukrainian property in the Crimea. The Ukrainian government intends to sue Russia for more than 91 billion dollars.

Previously, Yatsenyuk stated at the Verkhovna Rada that Russia had stolen 2.2 billion cubic meters of Crimean gas.

The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine suggested the property of Russian companies in Ukraine should be arrested for damages incurred for the loss of the Crimea.

Statements from illegitimate Ukrainian Prime Minister appear at the time when the Ukrainian troops continue to conduct the punitive operation in the south-east of the country, where local residents refuse to live under the power of the Kiev junta. Eight people were killed in an air raid of Luhansk, when combat aviation fired missiles at the building of the regional administration in the center of the city, killing civilians. Isn't that a violation of human rights?
