The Finnish Foreign Ministry contacted the Russian Embassy in Helsinki and requested clarification regarding the suspected violation of the country's airspace on Monday, the foreign ministry reports.
The Finnish Ministry of Defense previously reported suspicions of a Russian aircraft violating the country's airspace in the Gulf of Finland.
“The Finnish Foreign Ministry contacted the Russian Embassy in Helsinki and requested clarification regarding the alleged violation of airspace,” the FMD said in a statement on the social network X.
The Finnish side states that the violation allegedly occurred on the morning of June 10 near the city of Loviisa. The department intends to conduct an inspection.
