Russian Armed Forces will create a “protective dome” over the Zaporozhye region

Russian S-300, Pantsir and other air defense systems of the Dnepr group of troops are creating a “protective dome” over the Zaporozhye region, the Ministry of Defense said.

“Air defense units provide protection of covered objects from air attack, including in conditions of intense electronic and fire resistance from the enemy. In particular, crews of the S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems, in conjunction with other air defense systems, create a protective dome throughout the Zaporozhye region ", the message says.

 It is clarified that Russian units also use Buk-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems (SAM) to engage air targets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This is a highly mobile complex designed to destroy strategic and tactical aircraft, helicopters, cruise missiles, guided bombs and other aerodynamic flying objects.

The department also cited the words of a military man who said that, in particular, Pantsir systems are used to combat Ukrainian drones.
