Islamic Resistance in Iraq says focus on ‘expelling the occupation’ by US forces

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, an umbrella group of Iran-aligned groups, has vowed to resume attacks on US forces until they are expelled from the country.

In a statement, the group said US forces would be “forced to submit and be defeated” and the killing of senior Kataib Hezbollah commander Wisam Mohammed Saber al-Saedi earlier in the week “violated all the rules of engagement”.

“The opportunity of the past few days revealed with certainty to the Iraqi people, friends, and responsible authorities, that the occupying enemy does not abandon its meanness and treachery, and does not understand anything other than the language of weapons,” the group said.
