The airport closed for all takeoffs and landings shortly after the incident at around 8 pm local time (7pm Irish time).
The car with the 35-year-old man and 4-year-old child was parked under a plane, a police spokesperson said, and officers were at the scene with a large presence late last night.
Police said it was likely a custody dispute.

An armed man who broke into Hamburg Airport in a car is holding a 4-year-old child hostage, German media reported.
ReplyDeleteEarlier in the day, media reported that Hamburg's international airport was closed to all arriving and departing flights after a gunman rammed the security barrier and drove onto the airport ramp. The man was reportedly holding his two children hostage. Later, Hamburg police said that police officers were conducting an operation on the runway of the airport.
