"An indirect confrontation between NATO and the Russian Federation objectively increases the risk of their direct clash, despite allegations that the alliance is doing everything possible to avoid such a scenario," RIA Novosti quoted the permanent representative as saying.
Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov noted that few Western politicians believed in the readiness of our country to launch a special operation to protect Donbass.
Ryabkov recalled Russian President Vladimir Putin's initiative last fall to conclude agreements with NATO and the US on Russia's security guarantees. In the event of non-confirmation of readiness on the part of the Western states to accept Moscow's key positions, Europe would legally cross the "red line."
