US Military Deploys Reinforcements to Its Occupied Bases near Syria Oil Fields

(Tasnim) – The US military has sent troops to the sites it has captured near the oil fields in eastern Syria, days after they were hit by rockets again, local Syrian sources said.

"American forces based in Iraq sent military reinforcements consisting of 30 trucks carrying armored vehicles, tanks and bulldozers," according to sources cited in a report published by Turkey's Anadolu state news agency on Friday.

Two American helicopters accompanied the military escorts overhead, along with US-backed Kurdish militias affiliated with the PKK and YPG terrorist groups, according to the sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

They further mentioned that the reinforcements brought boxes containing ammunition and rockets.

According to the source, the military reinforcements arrived in Syria on Thursday from US military bases in Iraq, arriving in Al-Hasakah and then moved to the Al-Omar oil field in Syria's eastern Deir Ez-Zur province.

According to the source, over ten rockets were fired towards US bases last week from al-Mayadin, Syria, where local anti-terrorist resistance fighters are stationed.

It went on to say that in the area, US-led forces struck suspected rocket launch facilities near al-Mayadin.

According to a Sabereen News channel affiliated with Iraq's Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), a military complex holding US occupation forces in the al-Omar oil fields in Deir Ez-Zur came under rocket attack from adjacent areas the day before.

The latest rocket attack also marked a sharp rise in targeting US-run bases in Syria’s oil-rich eastern regions in recent months.
