COVID peak explained: Why can't Germany break the 4th Coronavirus wave? | DW Analysis

 At the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, Germany was considered a model student: successful countermeasures, a low death rate, public life hardly had to be restricted. 

One and a half years later, the country is in the 4th wave, the number of infections is rising rapidly, intensive care units are filling up and every day, hundreds of people die.

 Why can’t Germany break the 4th wave?
