US airstrike war crime, Human Rights Watch says

Human Rights Watch announced that the recent US attack to a mosque in al-Jinah village, Aleppo Governorate, Syria is a war crime.

“The American military authorities, after their attack to the mosque in al-Jinah village on March 16, 2017, claim they were not aware of the fact that the struck building was a mosque, while the prayer was on the verge holding and a religious speech was being delivered at the time of attack,” said the Human Rights Watch in a report, according to Al Mayadeen.

According to this report, this organization has not found any document proving that al-Qaeda or any other terrorist group members were in the mosque.

Attacking civilians or civilian centers especially mosques or sacred religious sites are considered as acts of war crimes.

American officials have said that they will conduct an enquiry about the attack.

The US airstrikes hit the mosque in al-Jinah village in Aleppo on March 16, killing and injuring scores of prayers.
