Turkey Summons Dutch Envoy to Foreign Ministry in Protest

Turkey on Saturday summoned the Dutch embassy's deputy ambassador in Ankara to the foreign ministry in protest after The Hague banned Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu from flying in for a campaign rally, an official said.

"We have summoned the Dutch deputy ambassador today," the Turkish foreign ministry official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

Meanwhile, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan branded the Netherlands "Nazi remnants, fascists" on Saturday after the Dutch government withdrew permission for his Foreign Minister to land there.
