Changing the system of government: The Director of the CIA doubts about the ability to restore Iraq and Syria

CIA Director John Brennan said in an interview with a publication of the center for combating terrorism, STS, not sure that it is possible to restore Iraq and Syria as the United States, and expressed support for changing the system of government.



According to him, these countries during the years of fierce fighting on its territory suffered heavy destruction and bloodshed, and the conflict between living in groups has greatly increased, therefore, the possibility of recovery of the United States under the authority of the Central government in the foreseeable future seems unlikely.

John Brennan noted that more than seems probable giving these countries the Federal structure. He noted that the Kurds have already received an Autonomous administration in Iraq and parts of Syria.

Speaking about the situation in other countries in the Middle East John Brennan said in Yemen by local militants of the terrorist group «Islamic state» began to cooperate with rivals from al-Qaida in the struggle against common enemies such as the Houthi rebels, based on Iranian support.
