Syria: Twin bombings rock Damascus suburb Sayyida Zeinab

At least eight people have been killed in a twin bomb attack on a suburb of Damascus which is home to Syria's holiest Shia shrine, state media say.

Some 13 other people were wounded in the blasts, which were caused by a suicide bomber and a car bomb.

The suburb of Sayyida Zeinab, some 10km (six miles) south of central Damascus, has been a frequent target of attacks.

Two bombings earlier this year - both claimed by the so-called Islamic State - killed more than 150 people...

    One of the two terrorist blasts which hit the town, located to the south of Damascus, was carried out by a suicide bomber with an explosive belt who blew himself up at the entrance of the suburb in the direction of al-Ziabiyeh town, while the other one was with a car bomb that exploded in al-Tin Street on the suburb’s outskirts.....http://sana.sy/en/?p=79876

  2. Au moins 20 personnes, dont 13 civils, ont péri samedi dans un attentat suicide et un autre à la voiture piégée près du mausolée chiite de Sayeda Zeinab, à 10 km de Damas, selon un nouveau bilan d'une ONG...

    Le bilan des deux attentats "s’élève à 20 morts, dont 13 civils, et plus de 30 blessés", a déclaré à l'AFP Rami Abdel Rahmane, directeur de l'Observatoire syrien des droits de l'Homme (OSDH).
