Turkey destroys ISIS rocket sites across Syrian border

The Turkish army destroyed rocket launch sites of terrorist group Daesh across the Syrian border on Tuesday, a security source said.

The sites were located in the north of Aleppo, 12 kilometers (7 miles) south of the border with Turkey’s Kilis province, which has been hit by numerous rocket attacks from Daesh-controlled territory in Syria in recent months, resulting in at least 17 deaths.

The source, speaking on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, said the launch sites 26 km (16 miles) from the city of Kilis were identified by drones and hit by artillery fire from inside Turkey.

Eleven Daesh terrorists were also killed, the source said.

Storm howitzers destroyed a three-story building but there was no information on possible terrorist casualties.

Another launch site was destroyed by artillery strikes on Monday.

Kilis has suffered 46 rocket attacks in which 61 people have been wounded since mid-January.
