German diplomatic missions in Turkey, as well as a school, are closed Thursday for security reasons, according to the German consulate in Istanbul.
The consulate said the closures include the German embassy in Ankara and the German school in Istanbul.
The announcement comes less than a week after a suicide car bomb attack that killed 37 people in Ankara. A Kurdish militant group has claimed responsibility for Sunday's attack.
The consulate is urging German citizens in Turkey to avoid the diplomatic buildings.
Consulate officials said they have received a warning of a possible terror threat, but said it was "not conclusively verifiable." It said the facilities are being shut as a precaution.
