Currently no weapon supply from Poland to Ukraine. (might be on the agenda...)

Poland is currently not selling any arms to Ukraine, Defence Minister Tomasz Siemoniak told Polish Radio One on Monday, but added that weapons deliveries might be on the agenda when Ukraine's defence minister visits Poland in the near future.

Siemoniak expects Ukrainian Defence Minister Valeriy Geletey's visit to take place "within the next fortnight or so. ... We will talk about cooperation, including military cooperation."

On Sunday, Geletey stated that a NATO country had agreed to sell weapons to Ukraine and that the delivery was already on its way, but Siemoniak said that, whilst this was not about Poland, the information was reliable.

"Ukraine's defence minister spoke clearly of one country that has started supplying weapons to Ukraine. That country is not Poland," Siemoniak said.

He added that he had said publicly before that Poland was open to selling arms to Ukraine.

"I expect talks to be held on this matter. I think the less said about these things, the better. These are matters to work on and not for media to speculate about," said the minister.

"All European Union members may sell weapons to Ukraine ... first let us see if this is possible and realistic," Siemoniak also said, adding that the procedures involved in selling arms meant that the defence minister "by definition, knows of every such operation."
