The Russian Foreign Ministry has reported the suspension of the handover of weapons and other military hardware left in Crimea to the Ukrainian armed forces.
"This decision will be in effect until the Ukrainian security forces completely stop military activities in eastern Ukraine and settle the situation in a peaceful way," it said.
"Considering the continuing activities of the Ukrainian security forces in eastern Ukraine with the use of heavy weapons and warplanes resulting in deaths of peaceful civilians, including children, and the destruction of civilian infrastructure in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, Russia has decided to suspend the handover of weapons, military hardware, and materiel belonging to the Ukrainian armed forces from the territory of the republic of Crimea to Kiev," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement available on its website, Interfax reports.
