Russian President Vladimir Putin supported Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko’s order to cease fire in the south-east of the country and his intention to take concrete steps towards peaceful settlement of the crisis in the region, the presidential press service said on Saturday, June 21.
Putin “urges all warring parties to stop all hostilities and begin talks”, the press service said. He believes, however, that Poroshenko’s peace plan “will not be viable and realistic without practical steps towards negotiations”.
- The Russian president said it was “unacceptable” when “after the order to cease fire ammunition lands and explodes on Russian territory as a result of the continuing confrontation between the Ukrainian sides, which not only causes damage to property but also endangers the life and health of our citizens”.

ReplyDeletePutin señaló que el plan propuesto por Poroshenko no será realista si no incluye "acciones prácticas que apunten al comienzo de un proceso de negociaciones", según indicó la Presidencia rusa.
El mandatario señaló que el plan de paz anunciado ayer por Poroshenko "no debe tener el carácter de ultimátum a las milicias".
En su opinión, "la posibilidad que abre el cese de las acciones de combate debe ser aprovechada para el comienzo de conversaciones constructivas y el logro de compromisos políticos entre las partes en conflicto en el este de Ucrania".
En tanto, el gobierno ucraniano afirmó hoy que sus tropas están respetando el alto el fuego mientras que las milicias continúan con los ataques con el objetivo de frustrar el proceso de paz.
Las milicias separatistas atacaron anoche con fuego de morteros el puesto fronterizo ucraniano Izvarino, en la zona limítrofe con Rusia, en un "intento consciente de entorpecer el proceso de arreglo pacífico en las regiones orientales de Ucrania", sostiene un comunicado la cancillería ucraniana.
Según el Servicio Federal de Seguridad (FSB, antiguo KGB) de Rusia, durante el ataque de anoche más de 80 guardias fronterizos ucranianos se refugiaron en territorio ruso.
La cancillería ucraniana señaló la "necesidad imperiosa" de evitar caer en provocaciones como las que tuvieron lugar en Izvarino, ya que la observancia del cese del uso de la fuerza es crucial para rebajar la tensión en el este de Ucrania, donde los combates han dejado centenares de muertos en los dos últimos meses.
Además, Ucrania exigió hoy a Moscú explicaciones oficiales por el incremento del número de efectivos y vehículos militares rusos junto a sus fronteras.
"La realización por el país vecino de estas actividades militares con tareas indeterminadas no ayuda a la normalización de la situación en Ucrania y a las iniciativas de paz de la jefatura de nuestro Estado", consideró la cancillería.
El alto el fuego ordenado por Poroshenko regirá una semana, hasta el día 27, período en el debe ponerse en marcha su plan de paz, de quince puntos, que incluye el desarme de las milicias y la creación de corredores seguros para que "los mercenarios rusos y ucranianos" puedan abandonar el territorio de Ucrania.
El presidente ucraniano advirtió que el alto el fuego unilateral no significa que las fuerzas gubernamentales no vayan a responder a los ataques, informó la agencia de noticias EFE.
"Ucrania demostró que está dispuesta a defender su independencia e integridad territorial con las armas en la mano, pero si hay una posibilidad de resolver el conflicto por la vía pacífica debemos aprovecharla", afirma una declaración del gobierno emitida hoy.

Russland unterstützt nach eigenen Angaben die ukrainischen Bemühungen für einen Waffenstillstand. Der russische Präsident Wladimir Putin befürworte die Entscheidung des ukrainischen Präsidenten Petro Poroschenko, teilte der Kreml am Samstagabend mit. Er habe alle Seiten zur Beendigung der Kämpfe und zur Aufnahme von Verhandlungen aufgefordert.
ReplyDeletePoroschenkos Plan sei nur umsetzbar, wenn es "praktischen Schritte" hin zum Start von Verhandlungen gebe, hieß es in der Erklärung. Der Plan solle kein "Ultimatum" an die Separatisten sein, unterstrich der russische Präsident. Diese hatten die Waffenruhe zuvor zurückgewiesen und Moskau zur Entsendung von Truppen in die Ostukraine aufgerufen.
Die ukrainische Regierung hatte am Freitag eine einwöchige Waffenruhe im Kampf gegen die prorussischen Separatisten ausgerufen. Die einseitige Feuerpause gelte von Freitag bis zum 27. Juni, hatte das Innenministerium Poroschenko zitiert. Bis dahin würden die Regierungstruppen nur dann zu den Waffen greifen, wenn sie von Separatisten angegriffen würden. Zuvor hatte die Regierung erklärt, sie habe die Grenzregion zu Russland wieder unter ihre Kontrolle gebracht.

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry have discussed the situation in Ukraine in the context of a peace plan, unveiled by Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko on June 20.....
ReplyDeleteIn a telephone conversation with Kerry on Sunday, Lavrov said Russian President Vladimir Putin had given an assessment to the peace plan.
“Russia always supported ceasefire. This is only the first step. The key task is to start a dialogue without ultimatums. It is necessary to take into account the interests of those who really control the situation in Ukraine’s southeast,” the Russian Foreign Ministry says.
Lavrov said Kiev, finally, must take a constructive position on the price for Russian gas.
Lavrov and Kerry also discussed the situation in Iraq that had aggravated due to the attacks by the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant terrorist group.
They confirmed the commitment to stepping up efforts aimed at countering growing terrorism.
