Ukrainian troops resume military action in eastern regions

According to spokesperson for Ukraine’s State Security Service Marina Ostapenko, “the main task is to provide a security perimeter around those regions, where violence is going on”.

The active phase of the punitive raid of Ukrainian servicemen in the country’s eastern regions has been resumed again. This said Marina Ostapenko, spokesperson for Ukraine’s State Security Service (SBU) at a briefing on Monday.

She noted, “The main task is to provide a security perimeter around those regions, where violence is going on”.

Earlier, spokesperson for the proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Maltsev informed that in Sloviansk (Donetsk region) a civilian was killed: armored vehicles of the Ukrainian special task units that were on the exit from the city, opened fire at his car.
He added that on the highway from Sloviansk to Donetsk near Semyonovka village, a fight was going on between Ukrainian special task units and self-defense forces.

Overnight, reports appeared that in Kostiantynivka, Ukrainian servicemen on four armored vehicles attacked a checkpoint and were moving towards Donetsk.

“All Kostyantynivka is on fire, four armored vehicles of the national guard from the column are already heading to Donetsk,” Alexander Maltsev, spokesperson for the proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic, told ITAR-TASS.

Coordinator for Donetsk defense Vasily Kiselyov told ITAR-TASS that self defense forces were not able to detain armored vehicles of the Ukrainian army near Semyonovka village (Donetsk region) on the Sloviansk - Donetsk highway. He added that the armored vehicles kept moving towards Donetsk.
Earlier it was reported that Ukraine’s federalization supporters occupied the office of Ukraine’s State Security Service, and then the city's executive committee office of Donetsk. Storming was avoided: head of the city’s administration came out to the protesters and stated that he was ready for dialogue.
