Russian journalists portrayed as terrorists in Ukraine-made videos

To prove the point Kiev's self-proclaimed authorities have demonstrated a video featuring the journalists posing in front of the massive rocket complex. Russia insists in response that the video has been edited specifically to suit the purpose.

The captured Russian journalists have been treated badly in Ukraine's crisis-hit east, while the Ukrainian forces have resumed military attacks against independence activists, the Venezuelan channel reports.

Donetsk and Lugansk are again being targeted in a new military campaign initiated by Kiev, with the General Prosecutor's office declaring all organizations that strive for independence are terrorist.

Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov has called OSCE groups working in Ukraine to serve as mediators in the crisis. He assures Moscow is taking all necessary steps aimed at resolving the tense situation and freeing the captured journalists.

"We pulled strings as soon as I learnt our journalists were captured in the vicinity of some military unit, accused of terrorism and of preparing a terrorist act. Yesterday, late at night, I contacted the Swiss president, who is acting OSCE chief, and urged him to exert all his leverage to demand the immediate release of our reporters."
