Overnight drills in central Kiev to be held by state security department. - Ukrainian Defense Ministry

Tactical special drills due in Kiev in the early hours of May 1 will be conducted by the State Security Department, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry said.

The ministry earlier denied plans to hold military drills in Kiev in the earlier hours of May 1.

The personnel and military hardware from the Kiev garrison are staying at their permanent bases and not due to be deployed in the center of the capital, the defense ministry said.


A tactical special exercise will be held in Kiev on the night of April 30 through the early hours of May 1, during which "military motorcades will be moving through the city," a spokesperson for the Kiev city administration said.

The personnel and vehicles will be deployed in the city center.
