Στους 16 έφτασε ο αριθμός των νεκρών στην Αίγυπτο εξαιτίας των αιματηρών συγκρούσεων που ξέσπασαν μεταξύ υποστηρικτών του προέδρου Μόρσι και των δυνάμεων ασφαλείας. Όπως μετέδωσε η κρατική τηλεόραση, επικαλούμενη δηλώσεις εκπροσώπου του υπουργείου Υγείας, τουλάχιστον 200 άτομα έχουν τραυματιστεί.
Πηγές των υπηρεσιών ασφαλείας δήλωσαν ότι οι υποστηρικτές του Μόρσι συγκρούστηκαν με τις δυνάμεις ασφαλείας.
Αυτόπτες μάρτυρες ανέφεραν στο πρακτορείο Ρόιτερς ότι πυροβολισμοί ακούγονταν διαρκώς κατά τη διάρκεια των συγκρούσεων.
Προειδοποίηση του Στρατού
Το Ανώτατο Συμβούλιο Ενόπλων Δυνάμεων (SCAF) δήλωσε την Τετάρτη, μέσω ανάρτησης στο Facebook, με τίτλο «Οι τελευταίες ώρες», ότι είναι έτοιμοι να πεθάνουν για να υπερασπιστούν τους πολίτες εναντίον των «τρομοκρατών και των ανόητων».
Στην δημοσίευση, η οποία αναρτήθηκε στην επίσημη σελίδα του SCAF στο Facebook αναγραφόταν: «Ορκιζόμαστε στο Θεό ότι θα θυσιάσουμε ακόμα και το αίμα μας για την Αίγυπτο και τους πολίτες της, για την υπεράσπισή τους ενάντια σε κάθε τρομοκράτη, ριζοσπάστη ή ανόητου», αναφέρει το πρακτορείο Ρόιτερς.
Η δήλωση αναρτήθηκε 3 μόλις ώρες αφότου ο πρόεδρος της χώρας, Μοχάμεντ Μόρσι, απηύθυνε τηλεοπτικό διάγγελμα, απορρίπτοντας το τελεσίγραφο του στρατού να μοιραστεί την εξουσία με τους αντιπάλους του.
Στρατιωτική πηγή δήλωσε στο Ρόιτερς ότι η δήλωση εκ μέρους του στρατού της χώρας, έκανε σαφές πως οι ένοπλες δυνάμεις δεν θα κάνουν πίσω στις απαιτήσεις τους
Οι εντάσεις ξέσπασαν λίγο αφότου ο Μόρσι, απευθυνόμενος στον αιγυπτιακό λαό μέσω τηλεοπτικού διαγγέλματος, δήλωσε ότι σκοπεύει να υπερασπιστεί τη νομιμότητα της κυβέρνησής του, την οποία οι πολίτες εξέλεξαν με δημοκρατικές διαδικασίες και να συνεχίσει να τελεί τα καθήκοντά του.
Κατά τη διάρκεια της ομιλίας του, ο πρόεδρος της χώρας, προέτρεψε τον στρατό να αποσύρει το τελεσίγραφο 48 ωρών που έχει θέσει στην κυβέρνηση, ανέφερε το CNN.

Le président égyptien Mohamed Morsi exclut un départ anticipé, se déclarant prêt à « donner sa vie » pour préserver sa « légitimité » et appelant l’armée à retirer l’ultimatum, qui expire ce mercredi à 17 heures heure belge.
Dans la rue, partisans et adversaires du chef de l’État poursuivaient leurs rassemblements de masse, en marge desquels seize personnes ont été tuées au Caire dans la nuit de mardi à mercredi lorsque des hommes non identifiés ont attaqué un rassemblement de partisans du président égyptien Mohamed Morsi au Caire, a annoncé le ministère de la Santé.
« Seize personnes ont été tuées et 200 blessées dans une attaque contre une manifestation de soutien au président Morsi aux abords de l’université du Caire », a rapporté la télévision officielle, citant le ministère.
Ailleurs au Caire, sept personnes ont été tuées mardi lors de heurts entre partisans et opposants du président islamiste dans le quartier de Guizeh qui ont également fait des dizaines de blessés, dont plusieurs grièvement touchés par des tirs.
Des heurts ont également éclaté dans d’autres quartiers de la périphérie du Caire et dans la province de Beheira.
Au total, 47 personnes, dont un Américain, ont trouvé la mort dans des violences en marge des manifestations qui secouent le pays depuis une semaine.

Mursi Insists He Will Not Step down, Army Vows to Sacrifice for Egypt ......
ReplyDeleteEgyptian President Mohammad Mursi and the country’s powerful army were at odds early on Wednesday, with the embattled leader was insisting he would not step down and the army pledging to sacrifice for Egypt.
In a televised address on Tuesday evening, Mursi said he had been freely elected to lead the country more than a year ago and intended to stick to his task.
The only alternative to respecting the constitutional legitimacy of the office was further bloodshed on the streets, he warned.
He said respect for the constitutional order was the "only guarantee against further bloodshed."
"The people chose me in free and fair elections," and he would "continue to shoulder his responsibilities" as Egypt struggles with the legacy of decades of authoritarian rule.
Once again, he accused supporters of the ousted Mubarak of trying to sow chaos and incite violence.
The president renewed his appeal to the opposition to join a dialogue, an appeal already repeatedly rejected as a sham.
Mursi's speech came as the clock ticked down to a Wednesday deadline set by the army for the president to meet the "people's demands" or have a solution imposed on him.
While he made no direct reference to the ultimatum in his speech, a message posted on his official Twitter account called on the army to back off.
"President Mursi insists on (his) constitutional legitimacy and rejects any attempt to overstep it," the message said.
"(He) calls on the armed forces to withdraw their warning and rejects any dictates, domestic or foreign."
Army, Opposition Response
Mursi’s speech elicited a fresh warning from the military. A post on the official Facebook page of the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces said: “We swear to God that we will sacrifice even our blood for Egypt and its people, to defend them against any terrorist, radical or fool.”
The message, reported by Reuters, was issued three hours after Mursi’s televised speech.
The Supreme Council is headed by defense minister General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi who on Monday issued a 48-hour ultimatum for the government to reach a compromise or else it will impose its own road map.
The main opposition June 30 Front coalition said it was ready to join urgent talks on the negotiated transition called for by the army.
The Front, which includes the grassroots Tamarod movement, named former UN nuclear watchdog chief Mohamed ElBaradei as its chief negotiator.

Clashes broke out at rival protests across the country overnight, with at least 16 pro-Morsi protesters killed at a demonstration at Cairo University.
Senior army commanders are in talks in Cairo, after saying they were ready to shed blood to defend Egypt against "any terrorist, radical or fool".
