The operational command of the Polish armed forces claims that the aircraft of Poland and allied countries were scrambled into the skies over the republic due to allegedly “intensive” actions by Russia.
“Attention, Polish and allied aircraft have begun to operate in the airspace, which may lead to an increase in noise levels, especially in the south-eastern part of the country,” the command said in a message on the X social network.
It states that “tonight there is intense activity by long-range aviation of the Russian Federation associated with missile attacks,” allegedly on targets on the territory of Ukraine.
Russian air attack on Ukraine damaged several facilities in a strike targeting energy infrastructure across the country, Ukraine’s military and energy officials said on Wednesday.
Energy facilities in five regions of Ukraine were damaged. The country's Energy Minister German Galushchenko announced this on Wednesday, May 8.
He clarified that damage was recorded in Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovograd, Lviv and Poltava regions, as well as in the Kyiv-controlled part of Zaporozhye region.
“The consequences are being clarified. Energy workers are working to eliminate them,” the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Energy quotes Galushchenko as saying.
