Washington Post global opinions contributor Hamid Mir says the government in Pakistan “expressed a very careful and cautious response” over the victory of the Taliban's takeover in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Mr Mir told Sky News Australia the Taliban had signed an agreement stating they would not take over Kabul by force or with military power but by taking over the city they have “violated the agreement”.
Mr Mir also said a number of people in Pakistan have “lots of concerns” over the Taliban's action in releasing prisoners from jail with some of them wanted in Pakistan for “terrorist activities”.
“The majority of Pakistani's don’t like the system of the Afghan Taliban want to impose in their country because we believe in democracy – and Afghan Taliban, they have always rejected democracy,” Mr Mir said.
