Israel calls on int'l community to act 'forcefully' after Iran missile tests

Jerusalem said on Wednesday that it "strongly condemns" the Iranian ballistic missiles launches in recent days", and called on the international community to act "forcefully and decisively" against them, i24NEWS' Tal Shalev reports.

Iran said its armed forces had fired two more ballistic missiles bearing the Hebrew-language inscription "Israel needs to be wiped off face of the earth" on Wednesday as it continued tests in defiance of US warnings.

"Long-range Qadr-H and Qadr-F precision missiles were fired today... which destroyed targets" some 1,400 kilometers (870 miles) away, official media quoted the deputy head of the Revolutionary Guards, General Hossein Salami, as saying.

In a statement from the Foreign Ministry, Israel says some of the missiles launched were capable of reaching Israel and large sections of the middle east, "a region with a bloody war sending waves of refugees to the region and to Europe." The statement pointed out that the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Maj. Gen. Mohammad Ali Jafari," even bragged to the media that Israel is in the range of most of the Iranian arsenal."

According to the Foreign Ministry statement, the ballistic missile tests are a "blunt violation" of UNSC resolution 2231, which adopted the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.

"The resolution restricts Iran from launching missiles that can carry a nuclear warhead, and those are exactly the missiles Iran has been launching," the statement said.

In the statement, Israel claims that the fact Iran is developing missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads "poses a big question mark over Iran's intention to fully comply with its part in the Iran deal."

"Iran continues to disregard the international communities demands and to develop its offensive capabilities. It appears that Zarif and Rouhanis charm offensive is no more then a veil of smoke intended to disguise the Ayatollah regimes real intentions," the statement added.............http://www.i24news.tv/en/news/international/middle-east/105529-160309-iran-fires-two-more-ballistic-missiles-in-continued-testing
