Czech PM orders immediate security audit

Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka announced on Monday that he has ordered an immediate audit of the security directives and procedures at the government office.

He also asked Czech National Security Office (NBU) head for cooperation to secure the government members' communication.

On Monday's press release, Sobotka also responded to the speculation regarding hacking of his private e-mail account. He said his password was strong enough and met all safety reules of the provider.

Sobotka dismissed rumors that the security of his e-mail has been weak. He said he became one of many victims of hackers who try their criminal actions to undermine citizens' privacy, steal private data, and destroy lives of them all.

After consulting with security experts, necessary steps will be implemented to strengthen the security of communications of the prime minister and members of the government, said Sobotka.

He did not elaborate the steps, only informed that a security audit would be carried out at the government office and the efforts to identify potential weak points.

According to reports, parts of Sobotka's e-mail has been released twice by the server White Media.

The organised crime squad (UOOZ) of Czech police are investigating the case. Its spokesman Paul Hantak said that it is impossible to release any information for the case is still under investigation.
