"Ahora no queremos señalar con el dedo a nadie, pero al fin y al cabo, la coalición liderada por EE.UU. llevaba ya un año y medio realizando ataques allí; más de 11 países participaron, se llevaron a cabo más de 500 ataques contra diferentes objetivos, pero no hay resultados, y es un hecho evidente", ha afirmado el mandatario ruso durante su intervención.
"Durante este tiempo, los terroristas no han hecho más que reforzar su presencia en el territorio de Siria e Irak, consolidándose donde ya estaban, y ampliar el área donde están presentes", ha agregado Putin en declaraciones recogidas por RIA Novosti.
"En este sentido, nuestros socios todavía no han podido, en mi opinión, hacer nada eficaz, pero con las primeras acciones de nuestras Fuerzas Armadas y el Ejército sirio se han producido resultados”, ha destacado el presidente ruso.
Sin embargo, el mandatario ha hecho hincapié en que "esto no es suficiente, y tenemos que unir los esfuerzos de todos los países que quieren luchar contra el terrorismo".
Vladímir Putin ha participado este jueves en la última jornada de la 12.ª reunión del Club Internacional Valdái, que se celebra en Sochi desde el pasado 19 de octubre. Esta institución reúne a expertos de todo el mundo, quienes ofrecen su visión sobre la actualidad mundial. En esta edición, el tema a debatir se ha presentado bajo el título "Guerra y paz. El hombre, el Estado y la amenaza de un gran conflicto en el siglo XXI".

ReplyDeleteLas municiones que los aviones estadounidenses arrojan en Siria pueden llegar a parar a manos de grupos árabes o formaciones kurdas, según Washington Post, que cita a jefes militares de la coalición anti-EI.
Los aviones de carga de EEUU arrojaron el pasado 11 de octubre 50 toneladas de municiones en la provincia siria de Hasaka, en el norte del país.
Más tarde, el Pentágono reconoció que parte del "envío" fue recogido por kurdos. Pero luego precisó que lo recibieron solo combatientes de "grupos árabes" que combaten al Estado Islámico.
Al mismo tiempo, según comandantes militares consultados por Washington Post, las armas pararon a manos de la guerrilla kurda que lucha contra los terroristas.
"Las decisiones sobre el frente que recibe las municiones las toman las Fuerzas Democráticas Sirias (coalición de brigadas kurdas y árabes)", dijo una fuente militar.
Agregó que, en todo caso, "50 toneladas no son suficientes cuando la línea del frente es de 700 kilómetros".

Oil sales - the extremists' largest single source of continual income - are a key reason they have been able to maintain their rule over their self-declared "caliphate" stretching across large parts of Syria and Iraq. With the funds to rebuild infrastructure and provide the largess that shore up its fighters' loyalty, it has been able to withstand ground fighting against its opponents and more than a year of bombardment in the U.S.-led air campaign.

Joint operations between Syrian and Russian forces are achieving "big results," Syria's parliament chief told a visiting Russian parliamentary delegation on Saturday, state news agency SANA reported....
ReplyDelete"The coordination between Syrian and Russian forces during the implementation of air and ground operations has begun to achieve big results in defeating and eradicating terrorism in Syria and Iraq," Jihad al-Lahham said.
He also defended joint Russian-Syrian operations as "the only legitimate coalition against international terrorism" in a dig at a US-led coalition against the Islamic State group that does not coordinate with Damascus.
Russia began an aerial campaign in Syria on September 30, in response to a request from Damascus.
Moscow says it is targeting ISIS and other "terrorists," but Syrian rebels and their backers say Russian strikes have focused on moderate and Islamist fighters, not jihadists.
Russia and Iran have proved staunch allies of President Bashar al-Assad's regime throughout the uprising against it that begin in March 2011.
Lahham said Syria was working with Russia and Iran "to push forward a political solution in parallel with the fight against terrorism".
The delegation's visit to Damascus comes a few days after Assad made a surprise trip to Moscow for talks with President Vladimir Putin.
It was his first known overseas trip since the war in Syria began.
