Part of a 10-day course for 300 Ukrainian troops at an army base near Zhytomyr is formed by exercises in detecting ambushes, basics in first aid and tactics in urban warfare, and this is just the start of the military training program involving British instructors, according to Ukraine Today.
Bob Kamer, British army major: "We teach them such things as how to occupy a building and build a defensive position, how to judge distance in an urban environment and how to conduct vehicle searches," Ukraine Today reports.
The British-led military training exercises come just over a week after the UK's Defense Secretary Michael Fallon warned the situation in east Ukraine remains "red hot."
