FYROM’s Orka Holding, the sole owner of the three newspapers, on Friday announced it had sold 50 per cent of its shares to the Serbian company.

Orka also said an ongoing reorganization should result in the formation of one new firm, “Telegraf ”, which will be in charge of the electronic editions of the newspapers it owns.

In addition, they announced the imminent launch of “Telegraf ”, a news portal that will be published in FYROM's, Albanian and the English language.

The company said that the news portal will have “independent desk comprised of 50 journalists who will be active 24 hours a day”.

According to published information, Internet Group will have one member on the three-member executive board.

Orka, run by FYROM's businessman Orce Kamcev, bought MPM production along with the newspapers in January from Germany’s WAZ Media Group, which has pulled out of FYROM.

The withdrawal of WAZ, the only foreign media owner in FYROM, raised concerns for levels of media freedom in the country[1].

Kamcev owns a chain of sports equipment stores and boutiques, a factory for clothes production as well as a medical clinic in Skopje.

According to some media, Kamcev is close to the ruling VMRO DPMNE party of FYROM's Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.
