Russian senator: US 'testing our patience' following Syrian jet incident

The Russian Defense Ministry has sent a serious warning to the US by declaring that its air defenses would follow the coalition’s warplanes and drones west of the Euphrates in Syria and suspend the memorandum on preventing flight incidents in Syria’s airspace, Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council’s Defense and Security Committee, Frants Klintsevich, said.

The 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, one of the oldest tank units in the US Army, will move to South Korea for a nine-month “rotational deployment.” It comes just one day after the Pentagon threatened an “overwhelming response” to any attack on Seoul.

Russian MoD reports increased Jabhat al-Nusra activities in Syria

The Russian military reports increased activities of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group in Syria, the Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria said in its regular daily update posted on the Russian defense ministry’s Facebook account.

Turkey warns Russia not to repeat rocket launcher incident

Turkey on Monday warned Russia's ambassador in Ankara that there should be no repeat of an incident after a Russian warship sailed through the Bosporus on Sunday with a soldier holding a shoulder-fired surface-to-air missile on the deck throughout the journey, an incident that Turkey called “provocative.”

A Russian warship passed through Istanbul’s Bosphorus en route to the Mediterranean on the morning of Dec. 6. One soldier was seen in footage of the boat passing holding a ground-to-air missile, drawing an angry reaction from Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu.
