Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Thursday opened a special exhibit about the history of Jerusalem at the United Nations headquarters in New York, but the UN seemed to distance itself from the display.

There Must Be Reparation, Says Paraguayan Senator Who Introduced Genocide Recognition Bill

ASUNCION (Agencia Prensa Armenia)—In an interview with Agencia Prensa Armenia, Paraguayan Senator Desiree Masi, who introduced Armenian Genocide recognition bill in the Congress of Paraguay last month, said that, “this statement of the Paraguayan Parliament will lead to greater recognition and a rescue of the historical memory.”

Grexit Would Be Most Dramatic Chapter in EU History (Donald Tusk)

EU Council President Donald Tusk warned that EU states should prevent the withdrawal of Greece from the euro zone.

"We have to prevent such an idiotic scenario," Tusk told German media, adding that a Grexit would be a disaster, taking into account the crisis in Libya, the fragile situation in the Balkans, Moldova, Transdniestria and Cyprus.

Lavrov predicts historians may coin new term: the Primakov Doctrine

The moment Yevgeny Primakov took over the Russian Foreign Ministry heralded a fundamental turn in Russia’s foreign policy, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the VGTRK television company in an interview on the eve of the jubilee of Yevgeny Primakov, the doyen of Russian politics, a renowned diplomat and politician who will turn 85 on October 29.

In January 1996 - September 1998 Primakov was Russia’s foreign minister, and in September 1998 - May 1999 led Russia’s Cabinet of Ministers.

U.S. ambassador, (to Serbia), has poor grasp of history. -- (WW2 Liberation of Belgrade)

BELGRADE -- Vladimir Yakunin says the U.S. ambassador to Serbia has demonstrated that he "does not know the history of the Soviet Union and WW2."...

Yakunin, who heads the St. Andrew the First-Called Foundation and is director of Russian Railways, is one of the Russian officials targeted by western sanctions. He spoke in Belgrade on Thursday.

His comments came after Ambassador Michael Kirby told a Belgrade daily that he was unsure why President Vladimir Putin planned to visit Belgrade, and that if the occasion was the anniversary of the WW2 Liberation of Belgrade, his remark was that "Belgrade was also liberated by the Third Ukrainian Army as part of the Red Army."
