Turkish 'coup' officer granted asylum in Greece

The co-pilot of a helicopter, who flew seven other Turkish military officers to Greece a day after last year's failed coup in Turkey, has been granted asylum, a Greek judicial source said Saturday.

Iran calls U.S. military behavior in Gulf 'unprofessional'

Coup plotters not welcomed in Greece: Greek PM

Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras has reportedly assured Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan that anyone implicated in the July 15 failed coup attempt in Turkey was not welcome in his country, amid reports Athens has already rejected the asylum demands of a number of Turkish coup attempting soldiers who escaped to the neighboring country.

The Russian embassies in Islamabad and Kabul are in close contact with the authorities of Pakistan and Afghanistan to seek the release of a Russian citizen captured by the Taliban movement in Afghanistan, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
