Russia says metro bomber funded by 'international terrorists' in Turkey: RIA

Ukraine May Not Receive Next IMF Tranche Until 2015 (Spokesperson)

Ukraine may not receive a third aid tranche from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) before next year, as the mission may be unable to make a decision before a new Ukrainian government is formed, IMF spokesperson Gerry Rice told reporters Wednesday.

“We are anticipating the next review mission, which will be the technical mission, in mid-November, and since the policy discussion cannot be completed for the review until the new government is formed, that is going to take some time, as we all understand, that mission may not be able to complete the discussions until the new government is in place and so it’s possible that the review will not be brought to the IMF board until later this year, even early next year. It’s driven by the formation of the new government,” Rice said.

UN: Oil trade with terrorists in Iraq, Syria slammed. (constitutes financial support for terrorists)

Voicing grave concern over the reported access to and seizure of oilfields and pipelines in Syria and Iraq by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) and Jabhat Al-Nusra, the Security Council Monday underscored that there should be no trade in oil with these terrorist groups.

In a presidential statement, the 15-member body underscored that "any trade of oil with these entities would be inconsistent with the Council's resolutions and that all States are required to ensure that their nationals and any persons within their territory do not trade in oil with these entities."

EU to support the destruction of Syrian chemical stockpiles. -Announced today financial support of €12 million

The European Union announced today financial support of €12 million to help destroy Syrian chemical stockpiles, by contributing to a Trust Fund established by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), recipient of the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize. The contribution was pledged by EU High Representative Catherine Ashton in December last year and become today a reality with the signing of the contract by EU Commissioner for Development Andris Piebalgs.
