Kremlin recalls maritime law when speaking about Estonia's plans for Gulf of Finland

Russia is proceeding from the fact that freedom of navigation is guaranteed by international maritime law, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday. He was speaking about Estonia's plans to introduce a so-called contiguous zone in the Gulf of Finland.

Moscow on Thursday dismissed a Dutch claim that a Russian transport plane had violated the airspace of Estonia and Lithuania.

The Netherlands said earlier on the day that a Russian four- engine plane has strayed into the airspace of Estonia and Lithuania "without prior notice."

Russian defence ministry says Russian warplane did not violate Estonia’s air space

Russia’s warplane did not violate Estonia’s air space, the press service of the Russian defence ministry said on Wednesday.
According to the press service, the Russian plane performed a routine training flight from the Khrabrovo airfield in the Russian westernmost Kaliningrad region over neutral waters of the Baltic Sea.  

The flight was made in strict compliance with international rule of the use of air space, the ministry stressed.
Earlier on Wednesday, the General Staff of the Estonian Defence Forces said that a Russian Ilyushin-20 reconnaissance plane had violated Estonia’s air space on Tuesday.

Obama Arrives in Estonia to Reassure Baltic States (VOA News)

President Barack Obama is in Estonia to reassure it and the other Baltic states that the United States will help defend them against any Russian aggression.  Obama arrived early Wednesday for a full day of meetings, first with Estonia's president and later with leaders of the other Baltic republics, Latvia and Lithuania. 
 Obama stopped here on his way to the NATO summit in Wales, where Russia's aggression in Ukraine will be the main topic and where Obama will work to step up pressure on Russia to stop interfering in Ukraine.
Last week, Obama indicated his stop in Estonia would be aimed at reassuring the nervous Baltic states.
