6 wounded after being stabbed in Los Angeles: media

Six people were wounded after being stabbed early Saturday morning in Los Angeles, the biggest city on the West Coast of the United States, local media reported.

The incident occurred at about 2:15 a.m. local time (1015 GMT) in downtown Los Angeles after a confrontation between two groups escalated into a fight, reported KABC-TV, the West Coast flagship station of the ABC television network, citing a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department.

The suspect, identified as a man in his 30s, was taken into custody by police, according to the report.

The six victims were transported to a local hospital and none of their injuries were life-threatening, said the report.
