"NATO has already been defeated in Ukraine. This defeat is connected with the collapse of the project of turning Ukraine into ‘anti-Russia’," Grushko said.
On October 11, before a meeting of defense ministers of the countries of the alliance, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Russia’s victory in the conflict in Ukraine would mean a defeat for NATO, noting that the alliance should not allow it.
Nobody knows about NATO's victories, but everyone knows about the results of NATO's military interventions, he added.
"As for its victories, I don't know anything, nobody knows anything about it. But everyone knows about the results of the socio-political, geopolitical engineering of NATO military interventions," Grushko said.
The incidents on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 gas pipelines, as well as on the Crimean Bridge, are a signal that the West has crossed a dangerous line, Grushko said.
"If we talk about the attacks on Nord Stream 2, on the Crimean Bridge, then the West has obviously crossed a very dangerous line," he said.
According to him, even according to NATO doctrines, "causing damage to critical infrastructure facilities is regarded as an act of armed attack, which suggests a conventional response" with the use of armed forces.
"Obviously, the organizers of these terrorist acts understand what they were doing, this clearly shows that this was a step towards further escalation," the diplomat added.
