Cargo train’s tank car catches fire on Crimean Bridge, part of the span of the Crimean bridge for the movement of cars collapsed.
A tank car at the rear of a cargo train caught fire while it was crossing the Crimean Bridge on Saturday, the Crimea Railway press service said.
"A fuel tanker at the rear of a cargo train has caught fire. The locomotive and some cars behind it were taken to the Kerch rail station. Emergency response is under way. Causes of the incident are being established," the statement says.
Crimea’s information ministry said shelters to provide food and heating to stranded drivers are currently being set up on roads leading to the bridge. All emergency services are on duty.

"Traffic on the bridge has been temporarily suspended, road services and the Ministry of Emergency Situations are working at the site," the press service said.
Earlier, the adviser to the head of the Crimea, Oleg Kryuchkov, reported a fire on one of the sections of the Crimean bridge of a fuel tank. He specified that the shipping arches were not damaged.
