Russia: US-Backed Militants in Syria’s Al-Tanf Preparing False-Flag Attack

Russia’s Defense Ministry warned that US-sponsored militants are planning to stage a false-flag attack against civilians in the strategic Al-Tanf region, which lies near the borders of Iraq and Jordan, to implicate Syrian government forces.

The Russian Reconciliation Center for Syria has received information that members of the so-called Maghawir Al-Thawra terrorist outfit are preparing to launch an attack in order to accuse Syrian army troops of indiscriminate strikes on civilian infrastructure and residential areas, Deputy head of the center, Major General Oleg Yegorov, stated, RIA Novosti reported.

In June, Al-Mayadeen television news network reported that attempts were underway in order to expand the presence of Washington-allied Takfiri terrorists in Southeastern Syria, and deploy them in areas where American occupation forces are located in Northeastern Syria.
