Shoigu: The blow to the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka was inflicted by Ukraine from the US-made MLRS

The missile strike of the military Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the pre-trial detention center in Yelenovka of the DPR with prisoners of war was carried out from a US-made multiple launch rocket system (MLRS).
This was announced by the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu.

50 people were killed in the pre-trial detention center, including about 20 militants of the Ukrainian nationalist regiment "Azov" (banned in the Russian Federation and recognized as a terrorist organization).


He called the incident "a cynical and savage reprisal" against the prisoners, which occurred because of Kyiv's fear of the consequences of the testimony of the militants. The testimonies of captured nationalists, as Shoigu recalled, exposed the crimes committed against the civilian population with the approval of the Ukrainian authorities.
