Moscow has weathered Western "blitzkrieg" of sanctions

Putin says that Russia’s economy has weathered a “blitzkrieg” of Western sanctions imposed in response to Moscow’s special operation.

Delivering a combative speech at the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Russian president said gloomy forecasts for his country’s economy had not been fulfilled.

He also delivered a lengthy denunciation of the United States and its allies, accusing Washington of treating other countries as “colonies” and warning “nothing will be as it used to be in global politics” anymore.
