U.S. supports humanitarian aid for N. Korea, blames regime for its humanitarian situation

 --

The U.S. says it continues to support international efforts to provide humanitarian aid to North Korea, but says the North Korean regime itself is responsible for the humanitarian situation there.
At a briefing on Thursday, State Department spokesperson Ned Price said... although the U.S. might disagree with a particular regime, it must do all it can to alleviate the suffering of people in North Korea.
He said the U.S. is involved in efforts to facilitate the provision of aid, mentioning its ongoing work to speed up approval within the United Nations for organizations from around the world to deliver aid to North Korea.
But he added that the regime continues to exploit its own citizens, violate their human rights, and divert resources from its people to build up its unlawful WMD and ballistic missiles program.
